The Leadership Team of Hersh Brothers Kicking Camp

Robert Hersh

Robert Hersh is a former player of Texas Southern University. He has also coached for the Special Teams of Texas Southern University as well as the kickers and punters from 2014-2017.

Robert has helped develop two All Americans, one of whom was Cory Carter, a punter of the Buffalo Bills and was previously with the Houston Texans. The other was Eric Medina, a kicker who was 15/16 his senior year on field goals and #1 in the country.

Jonathan Hersh

Coach Jonathan Hersh is completing his third year with La Marque following coaching and teaching stops at three previous schools.  Coach Hersh was a kicker for three years for the Austin College Kangaroos (Sherman, TX) where he earned a BA degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Following graduation, Coach was a graduate assistant for the Kangaroo football team.  Coach Hersh played his high school football for the Pearland Oilers and Alan B. Shephard (Il) High Schools.  For a decade, Coach Hersh ran the Hersh Brothers Kicking Camps with his brother, Coach Robert Hersh and have several graduates who have gone on to have successful college kicking careers.  Little known fact about Coach Hersh.  He did not have an interest in football as he was a budding soccer star.  Prior to the start of 8th grade football, the school coach pulled the future Coach Hersh aside and told him he was playing football that season and would not take no for an answer!

Coach Hersh went on that season to surprise everyone with his achievements as a running back and realized his future would be in football! In high school the coaches needed kickers and with his soccer experience they converted Coach into a kicker and punter. And as we say…the rest is history!
